FAQ

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE I BRING IN MY EQUIPMENT?

We buy, trade, and consign instruments every day. If you have a piece of equipment that you’re interested in getting rid of, make sure that it is clean, functioning properly, and includes as many original or aftermarket components as possible. This will only help the value of the gear.

HOW DOES SPICER’S DETERMINE THE VALUE OF MY GEAR?

We base our offers on the fair market value of your equipment. We take a look at several buying and selling platforms as well as our own records to find the current market value. Other things that determine the offer include supply, demand, and overall condition of the item. We work hard to give you an offer that is fair and works for both parties. We totally understand that sometimes a deal cannot be agreed upon and that is totally okay! 

HOW DO I GET PAID?

Once an offer is accepted, you will be issued a check from Spicer’s Music. You can also accept your funds in the form of store credit if you wish. If this is your first time selling or trading with us, a valid ID will be required. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

NON-LOCAL TRADES

Just because you aren’t in the Auburn, AL area does not mean that we don’t want to trade with you! There are a few more steps, though:

  1. We require a front and back picture of a valid, government issued ID.
  2. In addition to an accurate description of the item, photographs and in some cases videos must be provided.
  3. Shipping fees to Spicer’s Music are the responsibility of the individual, not Spicer’s Music.
  4. All trade offers are subject to final approval once Spicer’s Music receives the item. 
  5. If the item is not in the described condition upon arrival, we will work with you on a new, adjusted offer. If the item is not in the described condition and an offer cannot be agreed upon, the individual is responsible for return shipping costs.
  6. Although insuring the item when shipping to Spicer’s Music is totally up to you, we highly recommend it in case the item is damaged during shipping.
